EDRA in Motion – July 2025

For those EDRA members who are already participating in the Challenge, the updated standings file is attached for your information. Please note there are three tabs to the file –Standings; Miles Logged; and Stats. If you think I have made an error, let me know!

About two-thirds of the current 2025 participants submitted miles for July. Seventy-five percent of the full group is already eligible for a 2025 completion award. Three participants(with multiple years of submittals) are having their highest monthly average submittals – Jillane Baros, Guy Cheek, and Kathleen Dunham. Another four participants are 10% or less of their highest monthly averages – Sandra Cheek, Teresa Dixon, Carol Giles, and Holly Haddenham. I couldn’t help but notice that there are some really tight races in the Distance Division competitions – eight participants are within ninety miles of the current first place participant in Distance Division I. And there are four participants within 145 miles of the current first place participant in Distance Division II. Only Distance Division III seems to have Jillane Baros and Carol Giles pulling away from the masses – with almost three hundred miles between them and the rest of us.

Here’s a couple of other interesting entries:
• It was good to see that many of the June equipment malfunctions were resolved in July with new or repaired or found pedometers and smart watches… although Jillane Baros’s phone appears to have gone for a swim, oops and her pedometer miles were also lost during the month, ugh. As a consequence, her miles for July were abnormally low.

• AJ and Holly Haddenham reported a blast of a vacation on the Oregon coast – with horses and niece.
• Kendal Ingraham had moose encounters at the Ride the Loup site.
• Beth Johnston Meenaghan is recouping from surgery but logged in a bundle of miles while on the mend!
• Emilee Randal remembered to submit miles, but was involved in an auto accident, which appears to put some limitations on the miles she was able to travel. (Hope you are okay!)
• And another big shout out of thanks for those of you clearing, marking, checking trail – for Diamond in the Rough, Big Sky Memorial and Ride the Loup. I know a lot of the same was/is going on for the Selkirk Distance Derby, too.

Remember, we’re only halfway through this year’s ten-month competition, and a lot can change between now and the end of the year! So, start moving, start or continue submitting your miles and watch what happens!
