Nate will introduce Western riding techniques and demonstrate how they can be integrated with English and dressage riding. Topics include:
- Rider posture (English and Western) and its effect on the horse
- Understanding and using contact
- Body control and maneuvers to help horses stay relaxed and “quiet”
- A beginner-friendly focus, with time set aside for new riders and horses
Rider Fitness & Education
Building the Age-Proof Endurance Rider – Presentation and Movement Session with Tamara Baysinger (The Sweaty Equestrian)
Tamara will discuss how endurance riders can maintain strength, stability, and recovery capacity as they age — without sacrificing saddle time. Topics include:
- Prioritizing rider strength and aerobic fitness
- Nutrition strategies to support comfort and metabolic health
- A clear weekly training template adaptable to busy seasons, injury recovery, and performance goals
Following the presentation, Tamara will lead a gentle, rider-specific movement session to help participants identify and strengthen key muscles for long days in the saddle. (Comfortable clothing recommended.)
Tamara is a NASM-certified personal trainer, nutrition coach, EDRA member, and endurance rider with over 4,000 miles, including a 2025 Tevis completion. She will also be offering a special discounted program exclusively for EDRA members.
