2024 EDRA in Motion Results

From Sue McClain, EDRA in Motion Coordinator:

To all of the 2024 EDRA in Motion Challenge participants – you did not disappoint!

You might not have met your personal goals but most of you established some wonderful healthy habits and I have enjoyed every month of your journey. Even if you don’t provide any information on how you accumulated your miles, I still have a sense of what you’ve accomplished and what it took. What you have done, are doing, and will do isn’t easy. It takes commitment and persistence and tenacity and determination. Congratulations on a job well done!

A few of you reported miles for every single day of the year (or almost every single day of the year) – Jillane BarosTeresa DixonCarol GilesBonnie Girod, AJ and Holly HaddenhamJulie James, Katie Marlene Poe, and Nancy Zukewich – take a bow! A couple more reported miles for each month – Guy Cheek and myself, along with those listed above. Some of you put on the afterburners in order to meet the completion award requirements – way to go Terri Powell!!!

All of you in some way “made my day” with your motion descriptions throughout the year and December submittals were no exception. I was particularly supportive of Guy who spent time trail scouting – trying to locate safe passage for horses across a creek, so that a poorly designed bridge could be avoided. Cross-country skiing and a walk around Leavenworth to see the Christmas lights also sounded fun. Katie Poe’s basketball practice entries were fascinating. She’s running 5-7 miles with every practice! Hope your team plays well Katie! It was also heartwarming to read Bonnie’s posts about Westin’s and Kristen’s wedding; riding in Libby’s first annual Christmas parade; and getting some really special family photos (taken on their beloved property) before adult children move away. And AJ, what can I say? His knee surgery has him finding new hobbies (photography)? He’s been cleared to start walking (which makes me wonder how he’s been accumulating earlier miles if he’s not supposed to be walking). Thus, I’m not sure I believe him when he says he’s following doctor’s orders… But no matter what, I was delighted to read that he thinks his knee is getting stronger and he’s looking forward to 2025, wahoo!

The year-end file is attached. Please look it over and let me know if I made an inadvertent error. The file will become “final” if I haven’t heard from you before February 1.
